Houston Earns Building Performance Designation
Jimmy Houston, Jr., job supervisor for SW Associates, Inc., has been designated as a Certified Building Inspector by the Building Performance Institute (BPI), after graduating from a BPI-sponsored course offered at Caldwell Community College (Watauga Campus) in March 2009.
To gain this certification Houston has demonstrated an understanding of the relationship between all systems of the house and its effect on occupant health, safety and comfort, energy efficiency and durability. He passed written and field examinations that provided evidence of his ability to find the real problem and fix it, instead of putting a bandage on one of the symptoms.
Stan Whittington, president of SW Associates, says, “We are proud of Houston’s accomplishment. It will help our company maintain its ability to use the latest technology and building science knowledge to give our clients homes where they can both be comfortable and safe, while helping the environment by improving energy efficiency.”
BPI is a globally recognized agency within the building performance industry that provides credentials to professionals and quality assurance programs.
SW Associates specializes in custom residential construction and efficient business management, as well as a commitment to the highest standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
